Speaker Bios:

Russ Savage
Russ Savage is leading the application engineering team at Cask, focusing on building end to end big data applications using the Cask Data Application Platform (CDAP). He believes that the true value of Hadoop and other big data technologies is only unlocked when they are used to solve problems and provide value to the business. He previously worked at Elastic as a solutions architect.

Ofer Mendelevitch
Ofer Mendelevitch is VP Data Science at Lendup, where he is responsible for Lendup’s machine learning and advanced analytics group. Prior to joining Lendup, Ofer was Director of Data Science at Hortonworks, where he was working on large-scale machine learning with Hadoop and Spark. Before Hortonworks, Ofer served as Entrepreneur in Residence at XSeed, VP of Engineering at Nor1, and Director of engineering at Yahoo! where he led multiple engineering and data science teams. Ofer’s book “Practical Data Science with Hadoop and Spark” was published in December 2016.
