Spend Tracking Against Budget

To ensure effective spend tracking throughout all project phases, we typically implement the following approaches: 

  • Time Tracking in Jira:  
    We utilize Jira to track the time spent by different project team members on various tasks. This enables us to convert the tracked time into expenses by creating custom fields in Jira, specifically for this purpose. 
     
  • Monitoring by the Technical Project Manager (TPM):  
    The Technical Project Manager is responsible for monitoring project expenses and tracking them against the allocated budget. The TPM regularly reviews the expenditure to ensure that it aligns with the approved budget. 
     
  • Regular Budget Reviews and Financial Reporting:  
    We conduct regular budget reviews and financial reporting to maintain transparency and exercise proper cost control. This involves analyzing the actual costs incurred and comparing them to the approved budget. 
     
  • Ongoing Cost Comparison:  
    We continuously compare the actual project costs to the budgeted amounts to identify any discrepancies or cost overruns. This proactive approach allows us to promptly address any deviations from the budget. 
  • Mitigation of Cost Overruns:  
    In the event of cost overruns, we promptly identify and mitigate them. By taking proactive measures and adjusting our spending as necessary, we ensure that the project remains within the allocated budget.
